Quiz night

We are in need of more funds to get all the equipment we really need to fully support our boys. With this in mind we are proposing a Quiz Night to be held at Marlow Rowing club on May 10th starting at 7:30pm. Ian Benfell has experience of running such events and has volunteered to be our Quiz Master for the evening.

The admission fee will be £5 per person which will include a Chilli (Meat or Vegetarian based) supper as well as participation in the Quiz Competition. The Marlow Rowing Club has a well stocked bar at very reasonable prices and we will have the run of the place for the evening (thanks to John Yeatman, an active member of the club).

We would really appreciate the support of all the parents for this event, so please rally your friends and relatives and enter a team for a fun night out. If you feel you cannot raise a full team then come as you are and we will draft you into other teams to ensure you have a good time and can fully participate

To either book your team’s entry (teams of about 6 or so people are ideal) or to register without a full team please email me indicating  either :-

  • The number in your team and if coming as a complete team
  • The number of people attending looking to pair up with others to make an in situ team

. This will ensure your place and to help with planning for catering, seating and team consolidation arrangements.

Please book as early as possible

Let’s get behind our boys by putting together as many teams as we can, I am sure it will be a fun night and a good chance to meet up with other Mums and Dads in a rather more sociable setting than the all to often cold and wet touchline on a Sunday morning.

Riley Rec on Sunday Morning

Early morning pitch inspections determined the field to be totally unplayable this morning and therefore both the Plate matches against Thame Youth and this Sundays training sessions have been cancelled. We did consider brushing the pitch off but even for such committed (I use the word advisedly) individuals as Gavin's Gang this proved too much of a task. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Training will take place here normally on Tuesday night at 6:30 for all teams and any new recruits that may show up.

We will post more details of whats happening about the Plate matches as soon as they become available.
